Very well put there!
I have had the same issues in society, even aside from the depression. It seems like if I don't practice some kind of mindless sport, or better yet watch other even more mindless people practicing it so I can blather on about it for months afterwards completely regardless of whether anyone else is interested, then I am not a real man. I am suddenly demoted to a pseudo-man.
I hope you don't mind, this has inspired me to go away and write a similar post on my blog now! However I will link back here and give credit where its due :)

Excellent writing, very well put. Gender has always had a division defined by the things we do, but this is and always has been WRONG. Gender should be defined by how we feel and our bodies, but what we do should have no impact on it.

Speak up your heart,
Show me your feelings,
I am not a man nor a women,
A heart with feelings!
I can listen, I can understand,
I need not be a woman or a man,
Leave those pressures and expectations behind,
Share your pain and pleasures open up your mind!
Achieve whatever you want your way,
Laugh whenever you want cry whenever you like,
But do not be judgemental of wrong and right,
It's your life live it your way define yourself beyond the usual way!

I agree. Very good post and so true. Men do not open up, not just for big issues, small tiny problems that may show they have a heart/softer side/caring side, in my experience they think they are weak. Its bullshit. If more men where honest with what and how they are feeling....life would be better :)
